Virtual Boy

Post by Chet Vasvey on Tue Dec 22, 2009 4:41 pm

(Okay so this is my first attempt of writing a chapter by chapter story. Wish me luck Very Happy)

Chapter 1 - Introduction

"Come on... come on!", Chet Vasvey thought to himself as he stared anxiously at the clock hanging over the classroom door. School was almost over and all he could think of was getting home to play and forget about the worries of school. "So let's look at another example, class. Open up your books to page..." Chet slowly stopped paying attention to the health teacher and more to what he was going to do after school as the teacher rambled on about the lesson the class has repeated a few times before. "Only a few more seconds...", Chet mentioned as the clock ticked away.

"Ring! Ring!"

"Finally!", Chet exclaimed as he stood up from his chair with the rest of the class. "Man, that teacher is really boring.", said someone behind him. Chet took a quick glance back to find out it was a boy, slouching, around sixteen years old, messy black hair, bags under his dark brown eyes due to lack of sleep, and the traditional school clothing which was a white shirt, black tie, and black dress pants, and black dress shoes. Only thing was, unlike the rest of the students, his clothes were messy: his shirt was wrinkled, his tie was very loose, his pants were falling, and finally, his shoes were raggedy and lusterless. "Oh hey there Gabriel.", Chet mentioned to Gabriel as they walked out class. "Dude I can't believe its finally Friday.", Chet said to Gabriel as they left the school and walked home.

"I know right?", Gabe responded. "Can't wait till I get home and play 'till tomorrow.", Gabriel stated gladly. Chet looked over to Gabriel with a disappointed look, "You really need to get some sleep. It'll affect your health." Chet and Gabriel stood on the sidewalk and stared at each other seriously for a while and then they bursted in laughter. "Ah, that’s funny. Pfft, as if we cared about health.", Gabriel said with almost tears in his eyes. "So, we'll play online later today?", Chet asked. Gabriel looked down at the pavement and responded, "Sure why not?"

Chet looked at the street signs, "Well, I'll see you later."

"Alright, see ya." Chet made a left turn at the sign and Gabriel continued to walk forward. As Chet reached his home, he thought, "Hmm, I wonder if bro is home." He walked to his front door, unlocked it, opened it, and stepped inside. He looked at the couch to see two young teens around the ages of thirteen and fourteen sitting there. One had slightly long, light brown hair, pale skin, light brown eyes, and a slightly neat appearance. Next to him was another boy, with white, ruffled hair, green eyes and at a first glance, looked liked he was around the age of ten of twelve years old. "Hey so I guess you made it home Pensuke.", Chet mentioned to the brown haired teen. "Yea bro, I did, and before you this time. Oh and I invited Shane over for a while."

"Yea, I noticed. So, What’s up cousin?", Chet said with a bored look on his face as he referred himself to Shane. Shane looked over from the TV screen to redirect his attention to Chet, "Eh I'm fine just playing some video games with Pen." Chet ended his conversation with the teens and walked upstairs to his room. He placed his book bag on his bed and changed his clothes, from his uniform to his casual clothes, a blue hoodie, navy blue jeans, and his favorite torn and old sneakers. Then he sat down in front of his computer, turned it on, and smiled.

Chapter 2 - Video Games

Chet adjusted his glasses as he stared into the computer screen. "Okay, this is it. I can't mess up.", he thought to himself as he tried to pass a very difficult level of the game he was currently playing. "Just a... few more... steps.", he mumbled to himself in his quiet isolation. As Chet pressed the buttons with the utmost care, Pensuke comes dashing into the room with a great noise! "What... the... ****!!!", Chet exclaimed. You could tell his face was turning red under his large, glare stained, glasses. His voice could have been heard across the street. "Hey bro what's up?", Pensuke said with a gleeful smirk. Chet darted at Pensuke and caught him by his torso. He leans his face close to Pensuke and says, now furious, "Do... you... know... what... you... just... did?!" Pensuke looks up to his big brother and wittingly says, "Did I... make you lose the game?" Chet stood silent. Then, he quickly picked up Pensuke and throws him on the bed. "That's it!", Chet replies as he jumps on the bed and starts to punch Pensuke.

Pensuke retaliates and hits him back, while laughing. "Ha, you have to do better than that!" Then Chet, after feeling better from fighting with his brother notices something outside the door. It was Shane with a video camera, recording what was going on, laughing. "Damnit...", says Chet, "you guys set me up." He then moves away from Pensuke and runs towards the teen with the video camera and successfully snatches it away from him. "Better delete this before mom comes.", and Chet promptly deletes the recording. As he looked around, Chet notices the time and face palms. "Man Gabe should be already waiting for me." The two teens leave the room quickly, trying to avoid any more unnecessary beatings. "Heh, I told you he would rage.", said Pensuke with a smile. "Eh, I guess you're right... you do live with him afterall.", replied Shane touching his nose.

"All right... got to play with Gabe." Chet logs on to the game both him and Gabriel play together. Gabriel, already logged on types a message to Chet saying, "Dude what happened? You're late, AND you just missed the special in-game event." Chet, looking disappointed into the computer screen and types, "Meh, don't blame me, blame my brother and his recklessness. :p" Gabriel ignores the excuse and types, "Okay lets go train and kill some noobs. o.o" Chet's character follows Gabriel's character to go train. Suddenly, on his computer screen, a pop-up appears. The words on it were: Brought to you by Ensyco Entertainment: To our players, we are giving a chance to receive an exclusive Beta test console with a brand new, never before seen game, Just click on this pop-up and sign up. Chet, looking surprised at the advertisement, thought, "Cool! They are creating a new game. I should sign up..."

Chet clicks the link and sees previews of the game. "Looks good", he says in response to seeing the previews of the game. After looking through all of the previews, he finally gets to the sign-up page.

Chapter 3 - Sign-up

Chet read over the sign-up page several times to check if there was any small print or any catches. He even called over Pensuke and Shane to check it out for him. "Cool, looks legit", said Shane, after carefully reading over the page. Pensuke responded, "Yea it does... you should sign-up before the spots are taken!" Pensuke and Shane hurry down the stairs to get back to playing their game, both imagining having the new console.

"Fine", said Chet. He started to fill out the sheet and then at the bottom of his screen he noticed an IM from Gabriel. "Hey Chet did you get that message for the Beta test?" Chet opens up his IM window and types, "Yea. It looks pretty interesting so Imma sign up Very Happy" A few seconds later Gabriel responds, "Yea... Imma sign-up too. Oh and I gtg somewhere so don't page back. I hope we get one!" Chet exits out of the IM window and continues filling out the sheet with the correct information, until he reaches a certain question: "How many controllers would you like to receive?(Please choose from 1-4)" Chet thought how many people he would play and typed in "4", hoping that it wouldn't be too much.

When he finally clicks the "FINISH" button, he is redirected to another page. The text on the page said: Congratulations! You are one of the many to apply for the Beta-test. You should expect to receive the console one month from today's date! Amount of consoles remaining: 68 Chet, with an excited look on his face thinks to himself, "Yes! I almost made it. I wonder if Gabe got accepted... well, if he didn't, at least I got a spare controller for him."

Chet goes downstairs to tell he brother and his cousin that his application had been approved. Both of them had an amazed look on their faces. "So when are we going to get it?!", exclaimed Pensuke abruptly. Chet scratched his head, even though he was wearing a beanie over it, and replied, "Um... In a month..." The two young teens looked horrified when Chet mentioned the seemingly long time period. Shane, now looking more disappointed than horrified said that he couldn't wait for such a long time. Then Chet looks at Shane and starts to explain the deal with the time used to cheaply transport cheap items.

Over at Gabriel's home, Gabriel had just finished filling out his application. In awe, he stared at the page he was directed to and read: We are sorry. There are no more consoles available for the Beta-test. Amount of consoles remaining: 0 Gabriel quickly exited the window, a bit disappointed, and a bit frustrated. He went to the kitchen and checked out what his mother was cooking. She was almost done preparing the food, so he went to the dining room and awaited the food, not believing he wasn't lucky enough to receive a console.

Chapter 4 - Sunday

Two days have passed since Chet had been accepted to receive the console. What have they been doing today?

Gabriel, after filling out the page too late, went back to his normal weekend routine, playing video games until the next day. While he was in his room, that was so messy that it looked like it was never cleaned, playing on his Xbox 360, intensely focused on the game he was playing, hears a ring coming from his cell phone. "Hey did you get accepted?" Gabriel checked who it was from and realized it was from Chet. He answered back saying, "Nah man, I didn't make it time >_>" A few moments later, he receives another message. "No prob, I got accepted and I was able to get 4 controllers so you can come over and play with us when we get it Very Happy" Gabriel, now envious of Chet, agrees to his text and goes back to playing his video game, as usual.

Pensuke and Chet were at home playing on the PS3 trying to pass the time. "Hey, do you think the new console will be better than these?", Pensuke asked Chet. Chet looked over to Pensuke and says, "I don't even know what it looks like... I mean, the game seems really good but I don't know what and/or how to use the controls. All we can do is wait until we get it." Pensuke sighs and nods his head in agreement. Chet takes a break from playing with Pensuke and goes upstairs and goes to his computer to check out what's new. Pensuke continues to play on his PS3, but in his mind he is anxiously waiting for the arrival of the new game. "Man, I wonder what new features it will have... and the gameplay? Is it going to be awesome? Those previews seemed really good and very realistic", Pensuke thinks to himself. He pauses the game for a while and goes to the kitchen to get a snack, when he receives a text message from Shane. "Hey can I come over? I'm pretty bored here and mom says its alright :3" Pensuke replies by sending him a message saying that he can.

Shane was at home, playing with his cat. It was an average size, American Wirehair, with a tortie and white coat named Kyle. Shane spent most of his time either over at his cousin's house, or playing with Kyle. He has developed a strong bond with Kyle and dedicates a lot to him. He also has no gaming console, but he did have and old GBA. He had already beaten all the games his parents bought for him. "Eh, I should get ready and go to Pen's house", he thought to himself. Kyle, who was known for his loyalty, looked at Shane, who was about to leave and gave him a look as if he was saying, "Please take me with you..." Shane, noticing what that look meant, pick him up and placed Kyle underneath the brown jacket he was wearing, to keep him warm. He waved his mom goodbye and walked out the door with Kyle and a bog on his back. It was pretty cold outside, considering it was the second week in February. As he walked, Shane realized it was colder than he expected so he tried to keep himself as warm as he could.

Shane finally makes it to Pensuke and Chet's house and knocks on the door. Chet opens the door and greets him. As Shane walks in, Kyle falls from his jacket and jumps on Pensuke's lap, who went back to play his video game. Shane dropped his bag on the sofa and asks everyone in the household, "Guess who's sleeping over?!"

Chapter 5 - School

Monday, 7:30 a.m. Chet wakes up and get ready for school. He walks to school wearing his Blue hoodie to keep him warm. The winds were particularly strong that morning almost making the temperature reach sub-zero. When he finally reached his school, it turned out to be a little early, so he waited inside the school cafeteria. At 8:00 a.m. the bells for his Period 1 class had rang. His first class, Calculus, was his most difficult. This was because he had to stay awake and his teacher was amazingly boring. Luckily, Gabriel was also in his class, although, he was always a few minutes late. "Man, these students think they're so smart... they are all a bunch of teacher's pets", mentioned Gabriel to Chet as he stared tired at the board. "So I'm guessing no sleep?", Chet asked. Gabriel stared at Chet momentarily as if he already knew the answer.

Gabriel was called up by the teacher, Ms. Doverty, to complete the problem on the board. She was a tall, middle-aged, Russian teacher with long, black hair, green eyes, and a very strong Russian accent. The class stared in awe as Gabriel finished answering the problem. He had drawn on the board, a poorly detailed picture of a talking elephant. He looked back Ms. Doverty, smiled, and said, "Is it an elephant?" As he walked back to his seat the boys in the class, excluding Chet, looked at him disappointingly, and one even insulted Gabriel but he pretended not to listen but smacked the student in the back of the head. On the other hand, all the girls giggled and started to blush as he looked at each and everyone of them. Chet, laughing at the stupidity Of Gabriel's answer, high- fived him. "I am very disappointed ins joo Gabrielle. You should be knowings better. I have know ideas of how you are passing ze classe", said the teacher as she erased the board.

"Ring! Ring!" The bell for next period. Chet and Gabriel walked out of the class into the noisy hallway to their respective classes. There were basically three different types of students, some who cared about grade and rushed to class, the ones who could care less, cut class, and get into trouble, and finally there are those in between, they stayed in school and passed their classes but didn't really care. Chet and Gabriel would be classified as in between. For most of the day, Chet had no one he associated with in the class. This made his work easier and the periods pass by faster, since he had no one to goof off with.

The last period of the day, Phys Ed, was the only other class where Gabriel and Chet were together. During Phys Ed, they had met a peculiar student. Her name was Art Lin. She was a senior, one year older than both of them, but acted as if she was the youngest. She had black hair fixed up in pigtails, dark brown eyes, slightly shorter than both of them. At the time she was wearing the Phys Ed uniform: a white t-shirt and navy blue shorts, along with long black stocking that she added in herself. She seemed to have taken a liking to both of them because, unlike the other students, they usually avoided others and kept more to themselves. She was the type of student that cared about her grades and always tried to do her best. At first, not viewed as a welcomed companion, mostly because she didn't see what was so great about video games, she was slowly accepted. The three of them spent most of their time together during Phys Ed in a corner where the teacher couldn't see them hanging out.

Once, the Phys Ed teacher Mr. Brown, a large, out-of-shape, Caucasian caught them in their corner, hanging out and not participating. He called them over and forced them to participate. As they walked over to the Volleyball nets, the easiest sport there, Gabriel, trying to be witty, told the other two, "Have you guys ever noticed that most of the gym teachers are out of shape and are doing the opposite of what they teach?" All three started to chuckle and then they got back to playing. Soon, the ending bell had rung. They changed back to their uniform along with the rest of the class, and walked home.

Shane and Pensuke had all their classes together, so they were entertained. When they all got home, they went back to their daily routines. Shane at home playing with Kyle, Pensuke playing his consoles, Chet and Gabe playing together online, and Art studying hard at home.

Chapter 6 - Arrival

Time passed by slowly. The group felt that it was taking forever for the console to arrive. They spent most of their time performing their daily routines, trying to kill as much time possible. The group started becoming bored of their consoles, awaiting the arrival of the console that no one had any idea of what it would look like. Days and days passed at a time when finally, it came. The day had finally arrived so Chet and Pensuke were waiting anxiously by the door to receive their much anticipated gift. "What do you think the console will look like Chet?", asked Pensuke. Chet looked at Pensuke and answered, "Pen... you know as much as I do. But I am thinking that it will be a silver box, maybe thinner than our PS3 and four wireless controllers and amazing graphics." Chet started to daydream about the console. Around 4 p.m. that Saturday, there was a knock on the door. Chet and Pensuke quickly rose up from the floor they were sitting on and rushed to the door and opened it. It was a tall black man. He had a thin body structure, was wearing a brown delivery uniform, and held a box in his arms. "Is the the Vasvey residence?"

Chet responded affirmatively and signed the sheet saying that he had received the package. They quickly took the box inside and set it on the living room table. It was a large grey box, with the words "Ensyco Entertainment" on all of the sides. Shane, who was at the house at the time, also went to check out the newly arrived package. Kyle also was there and leaped on the table and started to circle around the box, trying to guess what it was. Pensuke went to the kitchen to get a knife to open the box. When he had returned, Chet had already opened the box by removing the tape easily. "Finally, we finally have it!", exclaimed Chet as his hands trembled when he tried to see what was inside that box.

After opening the package and taking out what was inside, they looked a little befuddled. The console was a small black cube. The game inside was an even smaller disc that imprinted on it had the title: "Another World". The controllers were different than expected, they were four small spheres that seem to resemble helmets. Even though the console didn't look like much, they were in for a big surprise. "Hm, I wonder how you use it?", asked Shane while petting Kyle. "How should I know?", responded Chet. "There's an instruction manual so Pen, start reading." Pensuke sighed at the command but obeyed, for he too, wanted to know how to use it. As Pensuke sat down trying to read the manual, Chet takes out his phone and texts Gabriel. "Gabe, its finally here! Very Happy" A few moments later, Chet received a response from Gabriel, "I'll be there as soon as I can!"

Gabriel left his home as soon as he received that message. He was rushing as fast as he can while the winds were hitting him in the face trying to slow him down. When he finally reached Chet's door he sighed a cool breath of relief. When Chet opened the door he greeted him. Gabriel's face was red and tired. He quickly rushed inside bracing the newly found warmth of Chet's home.

Chapter 7 - Another World

Pensuke, after fully reading the instruction manual, stood up. He started to explain what and how to use everything. "Basically, the EEGS doesn't need to connect to the TV or any other screen. Its all connected wirelessly." Pensuke grabbed one the small spheres in his hand and then pointed to two buttons, one blue and one red. "The red button is to expand the helmet and then when you place it on your head, you press the blue button so it can fit on one's head. Simple as that." Gabriel, still cold from the walk, says, "So, its a virtual reality helmet?" Pensuke responded to the simple question, "In simple terms... yea it is. Oh! I almost forgot. The manual also mentioned some cool benefits of playing the Beta-test." Shane was quick to ask what type of benefits.

Pensuke continued to explain, "It said that for the players, they can be excused from everyday normal activities while playing, such as, eating, sleeping, going to work, going to school, and other necessities. It said tha-" Shane interrupted Pensuke's explanation, "Oh man! That sounds awesome. We can basically live there!" Pensuke ignoring Shane, continued, "It said that helmets will connect with our minds and they will take over our natural functions while we enjoy ourselves in the game." Chet waited patiently and asked, "So the game will all be in our minds and all we have to is wear the helmet and play?" Pensuke nodded at the question. Gabriel, looking at the console, replied, "Well... seems easy enough... let's play!"

Each one of them picked up a sphere and adjusted it to their head size. Kyle pounced on Shane's lap and laid down it's head for a nap. Chet said worriedly, "Is everyone ready?" The rest of them agreed without a hint of doubt. Chet inserted the small disk into the EEGS and turned it on. The helmets lit up with a varied assortments of lights and sounds as they tried to connect to the player's brains and thoughts. After the helmets connected with the players, their minds were taken to what seemed to be a new realm. Their bodies all became digitized as they were each sent to their own, what seemed to be a changing room. Various options appeared in front of them, each customizing themselves with thousands of different options to choose from. After each of them were done, they were all sent together to a white room.

Colors started to flood the room and blend with each other like a three dimensional mosaic. They stared in amazement as a whole new world developed right before their eyes. Chet adjusted his digital glasses and walked forth, and smiled like the rest of them, as the panorama pleased their five senses. "Wow I can't believe this is all digital... it looks so real!", uttered Gabriel as the others stood speechless. A town had finished forming in front of their eyes in a matter of minutes. Gabriel and Chet pulled Pensuke and Shane as they walked to the town center, while appreciating the remarkable scenery with their eyes.

Chapter 8 - Green Town

As the four of them were checking out the town, a figure materialized before their eyes. It looked human, but it gave off an awkward sensation. It approached the four of them and stood directly in their way. When they looked closer, it was a tall gray robot wearing a long, white, impeccable robe. It opened up it's arms and in a monotone, metallic voice said, "Welcome to 'Another World'! You are now located in Green Town. I am a Trained Animatronic Guide, but you may call me 'TAG'. Please follow me as I show you around some areas of this new realm." The group was a little hesitant, but after realizing they were had no idea of what to do here, they obediently followed.

TAG continued to speak as he walked around the town with the tag-along group. The artificial sun beat on them and kept them warm as they walked on the dust-ridden pathways. They noticed several tents setup as small stores. The merchants, staring at their clients and occasionally at them offering deals. "All the people you will encounter on your trip will mostly be actual humans. There are only few AIs such as myself roaming around. Unlike the currency in the real world, we use one universal unit, the Dashen. For being new here, you are to receive one hundred Dashens each. Just open your hands." The group did as they were told and instantly various coins with different numbers totaling to one hundred each digitized in their hands. As the continued their tour, there were also various buildings with logos and billboards advertising real life businesses. The group sometimes met up with other new players, also accompanied by TAGs. "During your journey you will encounter various creatures and items. Many will help you, while others may cause you harm. As my final duty, I am to give you this." He handed out something that looked like an old scroll. Pensuke held out his hand and accepted it.

After letting go of the scroll, the TAG dematerialized into sparks and was blown away by the artificial winds. "Hm, I wonder what this is?" Pensuke turned around to the group and opened the scroll. It was a large detailed map depicting seven different regions of the world. Chet takes the map in his hand and analyzes their location. "We should learn more about this place before we head off into who-knows-what." They stop by a merchant's tent to find out what goods he sold. From inside the tent, a large, pudgy man with a thick black mustache, a ponytail, and Arabian formal wear stepped out. "And how may I service you fine gentlemen today?" Shane looked curiously at the man and responded, "Well, what do you have?" The man, playing with his mustache, pondered for a bit and finally answered, "Well, I sell herbs and medicines for long weary travels. The prices range from fifty to nine hundred Dashens." Chet spoke for the group, "Maybe not now, but after we check some other things out, we'll make sure we come back to see your goods." The pudgy man nodded, agreeing to their proposal and walked back into his comfy abode as he fiddled with his mustache.

As they continued walking around the town, Gabriel mentioned to the group,"I wonder where we go to get our classes..." Chet consults the map and sees a circled area of Green Town with an arrow that had written next to it, 'Class Acquirement'. Chet looked onto the town and tried to find where the place could possibly be. "Well, if I'm reading this map correctly, the place should be over... here." He was pointing to a northwestern direction from where they stood. The group looked up to that direction, only to see a large, Gothic edifice among the smaller buildings used for advertising and the acquirement of items. "Looks like we go there", said Shane bluntly.

Chapter 9 - Classes

Chet placed the map in his pockets and the group walked towards the class acquisition building. They stopped in front of the large edifice that had a large sign that read: 'Class'. "Well, this is it", signaled Chet as they stood in front of two large doors. Pensuke walked forward and tried to open the doors with no success. "So how do we get in?", asked Gabriel skeptically. "Uh, we can try knocking...", replied Shane, suggesting something none of the others had thought of doing. Pensuke stopped trying to force the door open and tried to knock as hard as he could, hurting his hand slightly in the process.

The two doors gradually opened inwards with a loud creaking sound. The inside of the building was pitch black and could not be seen my merely being outside of it. They decided to walk inside, not knowing what would await them. After they walked inside, far from the door's reach, the doors immediately locked themselves. Lights hanging from the walls of the building illuminated the dark room, to reveal that it wasn't a room at all, but that it was a long hallway. The walls were decorated with several lamps and statues, depicting the many classes the game had to offer. The ceiling was about forty to fifty feet away from the floor and was designed with a picture that resembled the sixteenth chapel. The floor was covered in one long red carpet with golden edges. All the way at the end of the hallway there was another door.

The group started to walk towards the doors, while closely examining the statues, looking for details of what classes they might choose. As they reached the end of the hallway, this time they were easily able to open the door. The room they entered was also dark as before and only one light lit up. The light was on the other side of the room were a throne was placed. On that throne was an old man, or should I say, what seemed to be an old man. The group approached the old man they slowly noticed his features. His face was wrinkly, and wore a robe similar to the TAG the had met before. He had a long gray beard and a silver orb in his old, tired hands. The room was a dull blue and not many features visible. "So... are you here... to receive a class?", said the old man trying to enunciate to the best of his ability.

Gabriel prudently responds, "Yes. We are here to receive our classes so we may continue our journey. But one question, are you also an AI?" The old man looked particularly at Gabriel, "Aye, that I am. I am Chief Ignus. I am the leader of this town and I am the sole responsible being for administering the classes to the new travelers. Would you like to receive yours now?" The group looked at the AI and nodded affirmatively. The AI slowly lifted one hand and placed it on his orb. He mumbled a few words and the orb began to glow. The light turned off and the only thing visible was the orb. Then, each of them were sent to to a different room were they would choose their class and receive basic equipment that suited them.

After deciding their classes and receiving the equipment, they were teleported to the front doors of the class acquisition building. Chet appeared, strapped with a tool belt with various appliances and tools. Gabriel followed, holding a small blade and thin shoulder pads. Then was Pensuke, with a hood and two daggers in hand. Finally, Shane appeared with white cat ears and a small stripped tail. Chet looked over at his friends and asked, "So what classes did you guys get? ...I choose 'Technician'." Pensuke looked at his hood and responded, "I choose to be a 'Night Stalker'. Apparently its a type of thief class." Gabriel looked a little disappointed as he said, "Oh... I'm a 'Berserk Paladin'." Shane dubiously looks at Gabriel and says, "Pfft. You don't look like much." Gabriel stares menacingly at Shane and replies, "Oh yea? What are you supposed to be, Mr. Cat Ears?" Shane touches his ears and says, "Oh this? Its because I'm an 'Animal Master'."

Chapter 10 - Knowledge

After the group had successfully received their classes, they remembered about the merchant that they agreed to visit. They stopped by and saw the pudgy man yelling at a small boy that had just shoplifted from his tent. Pensuke had suddenly appeared behind the child and grabbed him by the arm. The rest of the group caught up with Pensuke and they met by the tent. "You really shouldn't be stealing. Give the item back to the man", said Pensuke to the boy with an expression of quiet anger. The boy, now intimidated by Pensuke, quickly gave back the item that turned out to be a small potion used for healing. The kid, now loose from Pensuke's clutches, stumbled on the dusty ground and squirmed away. "I hate people who try to take another person's property", Pensuke sighed.

"Argh, these 'Thief' classes thinking they can come in and pilfer whenever they feel like... We aren't AIs anymore!", the merchant ended up yelling and shaking his fist in the general direction where the thief had left. "Ah, why thank you for your he-... wait, why, you are the group that agreed to revisit me!" The pudgy man, now knowing who he was talking to, started to fiddle with his mustache. "Oh! Where are my manners? I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Jawad. Please, please come in." The group followed Jawad into his red tent. It was much more spacious than what it appeared from the outside. He had a few beanbag chairs piled up in a corner of the tent. The floor was just like the walls and the ceiling, tent fabric. Finally, the walls were completely covered with potions and herbs were growing from the sides. Jawad had finished placing the beanbag chairs so the group may sit. After they sat down, they each introduced themselves.

"Looks like the four of you have received your new classes. Looking from your items and clothing, you must be a 'Technician'. You, a 'Night Stalker'. You, a 'Berserk Paladin'. And finally, you are a 'Animal Master'. Am I correct?" They all looked astounded at how precise he had deduced their classes. "How did you know?", stuttered Shane, amazed at Jawad's skill. "Well Shane, I have been here for a while. The items you are given, or the way a person looks is all unique. No class has the same armor or items as another. Just like the AIs. Unless they are animals, they wear long, white flowing robes that never seem to get dirty. Also the Admins that monitor this game are similar to AIs only that they wear masks that have their insignia imprinted on it to cover their identity." The group listened attentively to his words of wisdom. "I guess you guys are wondering how I know all of this... Well, its simple. Even though this game is relatively "new", people learn quickly. I was one of the first people to join and take advantage of the time opportunity. Well, I guess I talked enough you, you guys need to go on your way. But here, as a way to show my gratitude for what happened before." Jawad took a few potions from the walls and handed it to them. "These are some of my most expensive and useful potions. They can heal a lot when you receive damage."

In the real world things didn't turn out to go as planned. In the Ensyco Entertainment servers, a fatal program error occurred. The helmets became one with the player's brains, but the staff took immediate action. The only problem was, they didn't attend to it in time. The staff started to inform the players. "Well now, this should be sufficient", Jawad mentioned as he settled the four of them onto a donkey cart for their voyage. "All you have to is go to the Asgard region, find my brother, and return this cart to him. He looks just like me except he has no ponytail, but he does have a beard." The group sighed and Chet said, "Simple enough. Only problem is... how do we know in what direction we're going?" Jawad touched his mustache showing a bit of disappointment. "Those darn TAGs can give a player a map but no compass, useless!" Jawad quickly went inside his tent and found a old compass. He passed it to Chet, who then stashed it in his tool belt. "Its an old one that I had. Keep it. It should work."

As the four of them were saying their goodbyes to Jawad, a small screen digitized in front of everyone's faces. At first the screen revealed static, but as it cleared, the letter 'K' appeared in Old English font. Gabriel looked over to Jawad and asked, "What is this?" The fat man had a look of worry on his face as his mustache drooped. "That, Gabriel, is an Admin."

Chapter 11 - Error/Strength

The Admin started to speak in a voice similar to a TAG. "I regret to inform you all, due to a program error, we are all stuck in this game until further notice. Please, do NOT try to log out of the game. Any attempt to log out of the game may cause severe brain damage. We shall inform the general media of this ASAP. Please stay calm, for we are trying to solve this problem as we speak. For now, stay calm. We would also like to inform all of you that we, Admins, will be enforcing the rules much more strictly now. The error has also made re-spawning impossible and that we are all given ONE life. We know this game was also made for PvP, but given the circumstances, any 'killing' of other players will result in immediate ban. Since banning would require logging you off the game, we have and will redirect the banned players to an isolated room until this issue resolves. Please, with this in mind, enjoy your stay." The small screen faded away into thin air.

The five of them had a look of disbelief. "These Admins... whenever they appear is either to punish someone or give bad news. Well, looks like we have to make use of what we have", said Jawad as he twirled his mustache vigorously. "No use in dillydallying, please return this cart to my brother Burhan." Shane looked the most hurt because of the news. He thought to himself, "No more Kyle...?", as he petted his ears. Jawad was finally able to finish saying goodbye to them and they left on the path to Asgard. As they left in a northeastern direction, path started out to be very dusty and they encountered various harmless creatures, some similar to rats, rabbits, and lizards. The path then started to lose that appearance and gradually became more verdant and full of life. The artificial sun was setting on them and they hadn't encountered any danger. Shane told the group they should stop for the night because Diego, the name given to the donkey, told him he was getting tired. "How do you know what it says?", asked Pensuke. "Well, I guess talking to animals comes with the 'Animal Master' class...", answered Shane in a playful voice.

When the sun had finally set, they stopped by a tall Evergreen tree and tried to set their head comfortably for a night's rest. As each one of them had fallen asleep, a rustle came from the nearby bushes. Pensuke as soon as he heard the rustling, woke up immediately. "Ugh, I think being a light sleeper comes with this class... and I don't like it." After complaining he heard the rustling become even louder. A being appeared from the bushes. Pensuke tried to focus in on the creature and to his amazement, it was an ogre. It was smaller than Pensuke and had green skin, great for camouflaging with the environment, was wearing a loincloth and held a large club in his hand. He immediately got off of the cart and approached the ogre. "What do you want?", asked Pensuke looking suspiciously at the ogre. The ogre ignored Pensuke and went after the bag of potions the cart had on the side. Pensuke ran behind the ogre and grabbed his arm. "Looks like you're just an AI", said Pensuke as he took out a dagger, ready to strike the ogre. The ogre placed his club in his hand that was free, turned around, and hit Pensuke in the head. Pensuke then fell back letting go of the ogre. "Ugh, I can't be Mr. Nice-guy anymore."

He took out his second dagger, one in each hand now, and ran towards the ogre, who had successfully taken the potions. Pensuke reached over and aimed to strike the arm the Ogre was holding the potions in. When he finally had felt he was going to strike, he increased the force on the dagger. He then appeared before the ogre, who cringed in pain. The ogre's arm slowly slid off and fell on the floor, a clean strike. The severed arm dematerialized leaving the potions behind. The ogre, now on its knees, whimpered as a sign of giving up. "I'm sorry but you brought this upon yourself." Pensuke performed a quick slicing technique and walked toward the cart, now with the potions in his hand. The ogre then fell on the floor, in pieces. "All... clean... cuts."

The sun rose again in the east, in its never ending cycle. The rest of the group woke up well rested. Pensuke, on the other hand, was tired and had a major headache due to the club to the head. Chet looked over at Pensuke and asked, "What's up with you?" Pensuke was too tired to answer. He reached over for a potion and started to drink. He now felt better, and stronger.

Chapter 12 - Alert

In one of Ensyco Entertainment's rooms, their staff had tried everything in their grasp to solve the technical error. By the time they were able to do something about it, the error had been processed throughout the brains of the consumers too many times, making it impossible to repair. "What's the final result of the damage calculation?", asked one of directors of the beta testing. One of his underlings, dressed in a white lab coat, stood up and answered, "Its not good sir. Seven our staff members are trapped in the game, along with approximately three hundred thousand civilians." The director's face paled as he exclaimed, "This is the worst event to happen in video game history! This company will be ruined!" The CEO had walked into the dark room with a stern look on his face after listening to the underling's report. "Looks like we need to go public."

Chet and Pensuke's mother had woken up to see the four of them still sitting there, connected to the Ensyco Entertainment Gaming System. "Okay boys, a few more minutes or I'll force you off myself." After brushing her teeth, getting ready, and preparing breakfast, she receives a phone call. It was her sister, Shane's mother. Shane's mother told her to turn on the TV. On every channel it was the same news report. Reporter Stephen Heartford standing next to the CEO of Ensyco Entertainment, Gerald Moore. The Mr. Moore was tall bulky man with short gray hair and pale white eyes. He was wearing a fancy blue suit with a white shirt and an expensive red silk tie. The big company building served as the scenery. "This is an urgent announcement. Ensyco Entertainment has been affected by a fatal problem. Their new console, the EEGS, has received a tremendous software error. The most talked about game, 'Another World', only available for the EEGS, has many players trapped inside." On the screen they showed a picture of the console along with one of the helmets used. "The company have recommended to let the players who are using the console to keep them on so they may avoid possible brain damage. The company claims that they are doing everything possible to help fix this problem. The players have also been informed of this error and will not log out of the game to try to protect themselves. PLEASE, whatever you do, DO NOT try to remove the helmets or turn off the console. We will try our best to maintain the public informed."

Their mother dropped whatever she was holding and ran towards the children, trying to see if she can wake them up, but it was no use. A few minutes later there was a knock on the door. It was both Gabriel and Shane's mother with tears rolling down their cheeks. "Hello, I am Belinda Taylor, Gabriel's mother." She was a relatively short woman with dark brown eyes and black hair that reached her neck. Shane's mother was named Abigail Clark. She was an overprotective woman when it came to Shane. She blue eyes and long silver hair whose length reached half of her back and was slightly taller than Chet and Pensuke's mother. Finally, Dorothy Vasvey, Chet and Pensuke's mother. She had light brown that reached slightly past her neck and hazel eyes. They all sat down next to their children, embracing them, hoping for their safe return.

In an isolated region of 'Another World', seven figures had appeared from the darkness. One of the figures spoke, "Looks like we need to maintain the order of this enviornment." The other six simply nodded their heads in agreement. "So as the Head Admin, I am relocating each and every one of us to a separate region." One figure commented from the background, "Couldn't we ju-" He was interrupted immediately by the Head Admin, "Who's the Head Admin here? Oh, right... ME! I've been told what to do too many times now, and now it is my turn to gives the orders around here. So all of you are going to follow and you're going to like it!" The Head Admin started to point at the figure that had commented, "If I hear one more comment out of you, I will personally take away your rank and ban you, got that?" The figure only nodded, afraid of what the Head Admin may do next if he spoke. After the Head Admin had given out the assignments to the rest of the group, they dispersed into the shadows, obediently following orders.

On their way to Asgard, the four of them had started to get tired of traveling. "I feel hungry...", said Shane as he fidgeted in his seat. "Yea, yea, we all are. We haven't eaten since we got here. Just wait until we get to Asgard and then maybe we can get some food", said Chet and he continued to drive the cart in the right direction. After they made a short stop at a nearby lagoon to rest and refresh themselves, the group tried harnessing their more of their power. Shane kept talking to Diego, Chet fiddled with the compass, and Pensuke and Gabriel occasionally sparring. "I wonder what's going on in the real world", thought Chet as he persistently tried to upgrade the old compass with scraps of metal and wiring he had found in one of his belt's pockets.

Chapter 13 - End of a Travel

After one day and a half of traveling, the four adventurers were becoming agitated, or at least one of them was. "Are we there yet?", whined Shane as he rode on Diego. "Just hold your horses, or should I say, your donkeys", replied Gabriel trying to be funny. "Eh, we need to get there before nightfall. We don't know what may try to ambush us next", said Chet as he completed upgrading the compass. "Finally! I did it." The other three looked at Chet's hands to see what he had done. "Using the map we received and some pieces of metal and wires I found in my tool belt, I created a solar powered GPS." The group looked in amazement at the new piece of technology. "I guess intelligence comes with my class", chuckled Chet as he placed the GPS on the cart. "Also, according to the GPS, if we continue to travel at this rate, we should reach Asgard before nightfall." Shane's eyes widened at the news, "Yes! Just a few more and we'll get there!" Pensuke thought for a while, "Shane, has Diego gone to Asgard before?" Shane shrugged and whispered something in Diego's ear.

Diego made a hee-snaw sound. "Oh, Diego says he has traveled through here. He says the closer one gets to Asgard, the more creatures there are." Pensuke thinking about how close they were getting to Asgard mumbled, "Then it's only a matter of time..." The group continued slowly getting closer to Asgard. Gabriel saw something out in the distance. "Hey guys what is that?", Gabriel pointed to the shadows they were approaching. Pensuke quickly stood up, realizing what they were. "Oh god. They're ogres." Chet looked at Pensuke, "You mean like the one you fought at night?" Pensuke started to get ready for the approaching battle, "Yea. The same ones." Gabriel started to count how many ogres there were. "Guys... there's like thirty ogres and only two of us are ready for combat... This may be tough." Gabriel and Pensuke stood their ground, with their dagger and swords in hand and potions around their waist, as the ogres charged at them with all their might as Chet and Shane protected Diego and the cart by a nearby tree.

As the ogres came close Gabriel tackled them head on while Pensuke used his speed to attack them from behind. Gabriel started to swing his sword at the ogres, hitting a few. Gabriel had never actually fought an AI before so he tried to confront them one by one. He continued thrusting his sword at the ogres and managed to defeat around five. Pensuke, who already had experience fighting ogres, only had some difficulty with fighting them. He only attacked each of them from behind and not head on because he knew that they would have the advantage. The ogres could not keep up with Pensuke's attacks, so they went after Gabriel. Gabriel was overwhelmed by the increasing amount of ogres that he started to lose his focus. They started to piled up on him and tried to smash him to death with their clubs.

Pensuke tried his best to back stab the ogres and keep them off Gabriel. There were too many ogres and they just kept piling up on Gabriel and kept hitting him with their clubs. Now Gabriel, feeling weaker and overpowered by the ogres, sensed a rush of anger go through him. His eyes started to turn red and then he felt a lot more powerful than before and pushed off all the ogres that were ontop of him. He then started to swng his sword, aiming for their necks. Gabriel, who had also gained a keener vision, managed to decapitate several of them. Pensuke fell back amazed at the power Gabriel had received. Gabriel, now tired due to the rush of power, fell to his knees. The ogres that remained continued after the weakened Gabriel but Pensuke came to his aid. Pensuke swiftly attacked the ogres, who were caught off guard, and finished them off with the same slicing technique he had used on the first ogre. After the ogres had all dematerialized, Pensuke picked up Gabriel and helped him walk back to the cart. After drinking a few potions and resting for a while, they received no trouble for the rest of the trip.

After a while they saw their destination from afar. The path had slowly turned into a brick road and they saw a huge stone wall that had two doors, bigger yet similar to the ones they have seen at the class acquisition building. The doors were approximately ten feet thick and had several guards protecting the entrance to Asgard. Some were placed in watchtowers above the wall and others stood guard in the front. The guards in the watchtower were a branch of the 'Archer' class, due to their bows and arrows, and the one in front were a branch of the 'Warrior' class, because of their armor and their swords. Above the two doors there was a large wooden sign with the word 'Asgard' carved in it. "Looks like we're here", said Shane as he fell back in his seat. "Yea, we are", said Gabriel still trying to calm himself down. They approached the guards and told them that they were players wanting to enter. The guards checked for any signs of them possibly being AIs. After making sure they were normal players, they ceded and proceeded to open the doors for them. "Wow", Shane said in amazement.

Chapter 14 - Asgard

After the doors of the wall had fully opened, the cart had been instructed to pass through. After they had crossed, the door immediately closed, shutting them off from the outside. The four of them looked around to see a town full of bustling players and flourishing trade. Unlike Green Town, Asgard lacked the advertising billboards and the comparative emptiness. Also, Asgard provided many items and help that Green Town could not. The four of them tried walking around the busy markets looking for Burhan. "Hm, a 'Merchant' that looks like Jawad, shouldn't be that hard to find...", said Pensuke as he looked for Jawad's brother. The four of them kept looking for him in all of the 'Merchant' tents. "He's like... nowhere to be found", muttered Shane as he gave up. Chet, noticing how tired the group had gotten from the trip, especially Gabriel and Pensuke, suggested to sight-see in the meantime and if they find him, just follow him to his tent. The group finally had some time off.

Shane had taken Diego with him, looking around the city trying to find something that would interest him. "Hey look, a pet shop!" Shane started to pull Diego towards the pet shop named "Joey's Pet Place". Shane walked inside with Diego and saw a large variety of animals, both existent and nonexistent. "Oh look at all these animals!" Shane said as he approached all of the different species with Diego. A tall figure approaches Shane, “What is your name, ‘Animal Master’?” Shane quickly turned around to see who it was and answered. The person who had asked was the store owner. He had short black hair, hazel eyes, and wore a t-shirt with jeans, a white apron above, and drooping dog ears on his head. “Well Shane, my name is Joey and let me give you a tip, newbie”, said the owner as he pointed at Shane. “‘Animal Masters’ always have my permission to look around my store and interact with the creatures, it‘s their main purpose! You should talk to the animals, you learn a lot from them, trust me.” The clerk turned around and waved his hand as he hurried off to attend his other customers. “Cool I get to talk to the animals!” said Shane as he petted Diego.

Chet walked around the town, looking for excitement. He noticed an electronic store that caught his attention nearby. He walked inside and was amazed by the technology stored inside. In this store there were many inventions that didn't even exist in real life. The walls were covered with construction manuals, and how-to guides for making several different items. An old man walked in from the back door. His face had several creases on his skin, had a long gray beard, wore a black suit, and held a cane in his hand. Chet looked in awe as he took a closer look at the old man, and realized, he wasn’t 'complete'. “Surprised?” said the old man as he walked towards Chet. The old man pulled up his sleeve to reveal a mechanical arm. The old man continued, “Here in ‘Another World’ almost anything is possible. Science is far more advanced here than what we could ever imagine! In real life I am a paraplegic, but here I can move as freely as ever! I would never want to leave here, and as a fellow ‘Technician’, I can say that you will like your stay here in this place. Now, look around the store as much as you like, you may find something useful for your journey.” The old man chuckled as he walked to the back room, attending to his other duties. “Wow, looks like anything is possible here…” said Chet with an amazed look on his face. He walked towards the merchandise and starts to look at the items.

Gabriel and Pensuke were walking together looking for Burhan and sight-seeing at the same time. “Hey Pen look! A Blacksmith shop! Maybe we can get new weapons?” asked Gabriel. “Uh… sure”, said Pensuke as they walked towards the shop. The owner of the store walked outside, wiping the sweat off his forehead. He was a tall, dark-skinned fellow. He was shirtless at the time and only wore dark pants and a working apron. He noticed the boys approach him and asked them in a gruff voice, “What brings you two to my shop? …Let me guess, you want new weapons don’t you?” Pensuke spoke for himself and Gabriel, “Well… we are new to this town and we were ju-” He was immediately interrupted by the blacksmith, “Ah, I see. Come in, come in! New players are always welcome in my shop, as long as they don’t cause trouble.” He smiled as he motioned them to come inside. “My name Johnson Green and this is my shop. I am also known as one of the best blacksmiths in Asgard! Now tell your names young ones.” Pensuke responded, “Well my name is Pensuke and this is Gabriel. I am a ‘Night Stalker’ and Gabriel is a ‘Berserk Knight’. Maybe you may show us what weapons that may suit us?” Johnson nodded in agreement and took them to another room where the weapons were stored. Johnson pulled out a sword from the corner of the room and showed it to Gabriel. “Looks good huh? Swords are my specialty, but sadly, no one has wanted to buy it. It’s a good sword for a novice like you. Tell you what; I’ll sell it to you for one hundred seventy-five Dashens. Sounds good?” Gabriel looked over at Pensuke and knew that was more than he could afford. Pensuke sighed as he pulled out seventy-five Dashens and handed them over to Gabriel. Then he excitedly gave the Dashens to Johnson, who in exchange handed him the sword. “Now Pensuke, I think I have something for you.” He looked around in various bags until he finally found what he was looking for. It was a small leather bag with one button sealing it shut. “This is a bag of small needles and daggers. They are really good when you dip them in anything.” Pensuke asked Johnson, “So… how much is it? I only have twenty-five Dashens left.” Johnson rubbed his chin as he considered what was mentioned. He threw the bag at Pensuke saying, “Eh, it’s on the house. You guys are a bit too new so I’ll help you two out. Only one condition: Don’t tell anyone I gave you a freebie. I have a reputation to maintain. Got it?” Both Pensuke and Gabriel nodded, agreeing to the condition. “Thank you Johnson. We have to go now and meet up with our other friends who are also around town. Thank you for everything!” Johnson chuckled as he escorted the two outside.

The four of them, not including Diego, met up by a water fountain placed near the center of town. Chet had bought himself new tools and a manual to work with, and Shane came back with a new look. He had taken the form of a cat, similar to Kyle. Shane smiled as he turned back into his normal self, “Looks like I can turn into animals!” All of them had something new. As they continued to sight see, this time as a group, they still had no sign of Burhan. Interesting enough, they had received a huge surprise as they walked down one of the central paths. Chet pointed over at someone and nudged Gabriel, “Hey, is that who I think it is?” Gabriel looked at the person and responded, astounded, “No… that can’t be.” Shane and Pensuke had no idea of who they were talking about, but Shane made it more obivious. “Who are you two talking about? I want to know!” Gabriel and Chet ignored Shane as they stood surprised. Chet finally mentioned, “It is her!” They both exclaimed in unison, “It’s… it’s Art!”

Chapter 15 - Re encounter

The four of them walked towards Art Lin, an old buddy of Chet and Gabriel. "Art! It’s us!” exclaimed Gabriel as he waved. Art looked over to see who it was. Surprised, she ran over to the group. Chet looked at Art, "What are you doing here? I thought you didn't like video games." Art shrugged and replied, "Meh, my friend here convinced me to join." She pointed to someone standing next to her. The group hadn't noticed the person. He was average height, wore common novice clothes, brown eyes, average black hair and looked like nothing out of the ordinary. The guy looked blankly at the group, "Sup... my name is Matt." The group introduced themselves. Shane looked at both of them and asked what classes they were. Art revealed from behind her back a bow that held a sword within, “I chose to be a ‘Huntress’.” Matt shrugged and replied, “I didn’t really choose a class, so I’m guess just a ‘Wanderer’.” Gabriel interrupted and said, “We are actually here looking for a merchant by the name of Burhan… do you two know who I’m talking about?” Art just shook her head but Matt had a look on his face like a student who was too shy to give the correct answer in front of the class. Pensuke looked over at Matt and asked him if he knew. He reluctantly replied, “Uh, I guess… I usually see him at the local pub.” The group, along with Matt and Art agreed to go and see if they could find him.

The sky was already dark by the time they entered the pub. The pub was rowdy and filled with customers. There was a stage used for live performances and a sign that hung over the stage that read “Food and Spirit”. “Uh… I don’t think we should be here”, said Shane feeling awkward since he was under age. They approached the bartender and they asked for something to drink. The bartender looked at the group with a serious look on his face, “Hey aren’t you guys a little too young to be here?” The group remained silent, trying to think of a response. To their surprise, the bartender started to laugh along with the rest of the customers. “I guess you guys are new here… there is no age limit in here! This is a videogame. The laws of the real world don’t apply here. Now, go on ahead and order!” The group exhaled a sigh of great relief, and ordered their drinks. After a while, they noticed something familiar. In one of the tables in the back there was a familiar face. Shane whispered, “Isn’t that Burhan?” They believed it was so they stood up an approached him.

They were unfortunate though. He was Burhan, but he wasn’t mentally capable at the time. Pensuke tapped his shoulder and Burhan turned around immediately. “What… what do you want? *Hic*” said Burhan with burning red eyes and a smell of alcohol on his breath. Pensuke stepped back, not sure what to do. Gabriel responded, “We’re here to return your donkey and items from Jawad.” Even though Burhan and Jawad looked similar, Burhan was much bigger. He stood up, overwhelming the two of them. “What? *Hic* My brother? *Hic* What about my… *Hic* Two-timing, backstabbing, no-good excuse for a brother?” Burhan picked up a nearby bottle and flung it at Pensuke. Pensuke was able to dodge the bottle on time before it smashed into his face. Chet called over from behind, “Uh… I don’t think we should mess with him now.” Gabriel and Pensuke tried to move away from Burhan as fast as they could, but Burhan grabbed both of them by the neck and pulled them back. The rest of the people in the bar made room for them and created a circle encompassing them. They started to chant, “Fight! Fight! Fight!” The bartender just sat back and watched the fight develop. Burhan kept grabbing any items near him, trying to hit either Gabriel or Pensuke to the best of his ability. The two of them tried to push their way out of the circle, but they were just getting pushed back. Gabriel took a good look at Burhan, “I guess if we want to get out, we have to fight back…” Pensuke sighed and replied, “Agreed.”

Pensuke took out a dagger and grabbed it by the tip. He ran towards Burhan and hit him with the base of his dagger. Burhan was unfazed by the strike and continued to throw items, this time he threw a chair and hit Pensuke in the chest. Gabriel was trying to take him down with his fists. Burhan was able to say one thing, “Get… *Hic* Away… *Hic* FROM ME!” He started to thrust his stomach and pushed Gabriel back to the opposite end of the circle, only to get pushed back again. Gabriel started to get angry as he and Pensuke continued to get pummeled, as Chet, Shane, Art, and Matt were not able to help them. Someone from the crowd placed a sword in Burhan’s hands. Burhan swung wildly hoping to hit something. Burhan was going to hit Pensuke but he was quick enough to retrieve a stool to defend himself with. The force of the blow was strong enough to destroy the stool and inflict some damage to Pensuke. “Heh, it looks like your buddy is getting a whooping from the big guy”, said the bartender as he chuckled away, enjoying the fight. The four of them ignored him as Shane took the from similar to that of Kyle and sat on Art’s lap and she petted him anxiously, wanting the fight to end. Pensuke picked up a nearby mug and smashed it against Burhan’s head. There was a large bruise on his head, but he ignored it and slammed Pensuke against a wall, leaving him unconscious. Burhan ran towards Pensuke, attempting to finish him. The circle started to disperse as the fight was about to end. Burhan swung his sword for the last time, aiming for Pensuke’s neck. Everyone closed their eyes as blood splattered everywhere. Burhan gave off a fearful “grunt” as everyone opened their eyes. Gabriel stood there, in front of Pensuke, his eyes burning red, and Burhan’s sword cutting into his ribcage. Burhan looked down as blood spewed from his mouth, only to see Gabriel’s blade cut clean through him. Gabriel, now out of strength, fell to the ground, now unconcious. Burhan was down on the floor, some of his major organs destroyed. The bartender quickly stood up and checked the three of them.
The bartender paled as he finally went to check Burhan, “Oh my god… he’s dead.”
